Welcome to the Inaugural Perfect Post Awards!

Sometimes as you surf your favorite blogs, you happen upon a post that rocks your world. Maybe you laugh until your sides hurt. Maybe you cry. Maybe you find yourself thinking about it for days afterward. You want to share the post with everyone you know- but how?

MommaK at Petroville and I have been thinking about this and we've gathered some friends together to launch the Perfect Post Awards.

On the first day of each month, all participants will give out the award to their favorite post written by another blogger during the preceding month. The "winners" will receive a cool Perfect Post button for that month, which they can put on their sites if they wish. MommaK and I will link on each award day to everyone who's giving out a Perfect Post award.

This is a chance to read some of the best posts written each month- and to spread a little warm fuzziness, too. If you'd like to present an award yourself next month, e-mail me or MommaK and we'll send you the latest award button code a few days before April 1st, so that you can participate in next month's awards!

This post is every bit as funny as anything I've read in a David Sedaris book. I laughed out loud, sent it to friends and have even begun referencing it as if it were a "Seinfeld" episode, ("Oh, I think you're a dad going gay, like Dutch at Sweet Juniper. You haven't seen that one? It's a blog. What's a blog? Um. Nevermind.") Anyway. These are all surefire marks of a perfect post. Go read it. Be prepared to laugh til you cry. The Perfect Post Awards have been more fun than I could have imagined. Who knew there were so many great blogs out there? I've laughed. I've cried. I've noticed a recurrent father theme... And I've added on a number of you as presenters for next month. So write your hearts out, bloggers. And you, too shall surely be rewarded with a Perfect Post Award (say that in a booming voice with reverb, please). Even if you have to give it to yourself.
