We're Leafing!

Today, I'm holed up with a cranky, feverish post-immunization-shot toddler. But yesterday, we got our fall on... AGAIN. I'm obsessed with making the most of this season and planning outdoor activities several times a week. We spent yesterday going on a fall hike through Warner Park, playing in the leaves, doing crafts, and sloshing through a shallow creek. It was lovely.

"Boy," Punky said as we got in the car to go home, "We sure are doing a lot of fall!"

Speaking of yesterday, I had a run-in with someone from my blogging past... Was it a charter member of the Green Hills Moms Club? A horde of angry stay-at-home dads? MARTINA? You'll have to wait til Monday to find out!

In the meantime, check out what's going on this week over at my Parents.com blog...

Also, over at AlphaMom this week, I have a few tips on how to preschool your child at home.
Back later this weekend with more odds and ends...

I am a new blogger and a new blog reader and I am so glad I discovered yours (thanks to "Notes from the Trenches")!
Anyway, yours is one of my favorite blogs (you had me from "Wiping Ass and Taking Names") so thanks. How do you find the time to do all of this writing and raise those gorgeous children?

Lindsay, the post you wrote for the Parents website was so beautiful. What a WONDERFUL keepsake for Punky to look back on as she grows up. I am sure she will cherish it.

Thanks, Tammy and Susie!

Kelly, I'm lucky I make enough money writing now to justify hiring a babysitter eight hours a week specifically so that I can work. My husband takes a two-hour shift on the weekends. And I also squeeze it in during the kids' naptimes (when I'm not squeezing in housework). It took months, but I've gotten them on the same naptime schedule and it is HEAVEN. :)

Can't be bothered to get a login at Parents.com, but Sweet Spirit was suh a gorgeous post! Generosity is one of the most essential, and yet strangely unpraised qualities that a person can have. Yay to Punky for having it in spades, and to you for recognizing her for it.

Of course, maybe it's just all of the sugar that's putting her in a good mood. :) (Just read the last Parents.com post.)

Punky's smile alone reflects her sweet, considerate nature. It sounds like she has a very pure heart, but that's not surprising given the amount of time you put into her, and the security she has in having a large, loving, extended family.

I just gave up one of my two preschool days. While I will miss the quiet, it's too expensive to send two kids, and I agree with so many of your past posts. This is time we don't get back. We better savor it.
